An infant ticket, infant baggage, a stroller and a bassinet are four separate things. Do not assume they are all free or priced at a fixed percentage of an adult ticket. Compare the actual offer for the child’s age on every flight, the route, fare and operating airline.

Price the whole family
Enter adults, children with seats and infants separately, using correct birth dates for the outward and return journeys. If a child crosses an age-category boundary during the trip, ask the airline how the ticket must be issued before paying.
Compare all passenger tickets + required extra baggage + selected seats + airport transport. Do not multiply an adult headline fare by the number of family members. Use the same baggage needs and an acceptable schedule for both airline offers.
Here is a hypothetical calculation, not a fare quote: if option A’s family tickets total IDR 8 million and required extras cost IDR 600,000, compare IDR 8.6 million with option B’s full total. The example does not establish a route price or a saving.
Stroller and baby-equipment checklist
- Measure the folded stroller and record its weight. Ask whether it goes in the cabin, at the gate or at the check-in counter.
- Ask where it will be returned at the connection and destination: aircraft door, baggage belt or special-item area.
- Confirm approval for any child car seat you intend to use on board.
- Separate supplies needed during the journey from checked belongings. Check the departure airport’s security rules for baby food and liquids.
- Save confirmations for assistance and bassinet requests with the tickets.
For a mixed-passport family, verify entry and transit requirements for each person. Being related does not give everyone the same immigration eligibility.
