How we show fares

Fares on SkyIndoFly are observations from other people’s searches, not live prices. Here is where they come from, when they refresh and when we stop showing them.

Where fares come from

We take fares from the Travelpayouts Data API, a cache of Aviasales users’ search results. For each route we keep the cheapest one-way fare for a future departure date, with the airline, number of connections and departure date when available. The currency is Indonesian rupiah (IDR).

Fare basis: 1 adult, economy, one way, before checked baggage and payment fees. A found fare is not a guaranteed seat: when you search, the price may be higher or lower.

When fares refresh and expire

  • Data refreshes weekly (every Sunday morning, UTC). We call a fare “found” on the date the data was retrieved.
  • An observation counts as current for 7 days after retrieval — the provider’s cache retention. After that it is shown only as a historical fare with its date, for up to 30 days, and then not at all.
  • A fare whose departure date has passed is never shown as current.
  • Rebuilding the site never makes an old fare new: the date found does not change.

Empty states

When there is no current observation, we show no number. We distinguish “no recent search found a fare” from “data is temporarily unavailable” (for example an API outage). Neither means there are no flights — check fares for your dates.

Monthly fares and weekly history

The monthly chart shows the cheapest one-way fare found for each departure month in the next 12 months. Months without an observation stay empty — that does not mean cheaper or dearer. The weekly history records one observation per week and is never filled in between data points. We do not infer a “best time to buy” from this data.

Cheapest-fare rankings

The fares by departure city and by destination pages rank only observations that are still current. Every row shows the trip type, the date found and the departure date it was found for.

Routes and airlines

Route and airline lists come from our route data, compiled from public schedules, and can lag behind recent changes. We do not label airlines “fastest” or “best”. Confirm the operating airline, baggage and fare conditions when you book.

Search

The search form opens results on Aviasales in a new tab with the cities, dates, number of travellers and cabin you chose. Currency and some filters (such as direct flights only or a specific airline) cannot be passed in the link; Aviasales uses the currency of your location or account settings.
